Emergency Assistance – Ashland, Bayfield Counties
*Provides assistance with utility disconnects and rent or mortgage assistance.
Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housig Program
*Provides financial assistance to either prevent or to help those who are experiencing homelessness. Those who qualify for the rental assistance must be either homelss or facing eviction. Those who qualify for the utility assistance must be responsible for the utilities in their lease agreement and facing eviction, or unable to get housing due to an outstanding balance.
72 Hour Care – Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield Counties
*Provides food and shelter to homeless individuals and families for up to 72 hours.
Affordable Housing – Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas, Iron, Price Counties (PDF format)
Provides affordable non-subsidized rental units at a “capped rent” lower than the fair market rent. Tenants must meet income guidelines.
Transitional Housing – Douglas, Ashland, Bayfield Counties
Provides individuals and families with shelter and other extensive supportive services.
Emergency Shelter – Facilities located in Ashland County
Assists families and single individuals who are homeless in becoming self sufficient through finding suitable employment and a permanent residence.
Judicare – Ashland and Douglas Counties
Assists in providing and processing applications for free legal services. Applications are available at all office locations.
Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) – Ashland, Bayfield, Iron Counties
Involves people age 55 and over in providing volunteer services to community agencies and schools utilizing their many skills and talents to positively impact their communities.
Memory Lane – Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas Counties
To improve the quality of life for older adults with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia by offering state certified adult day services committed to enhancing and maintaining self-respect, dignity, and maximum independence; and to offer respite to families and caregivers who are responsible for an adult in need of supervision and care.
