  • History

    The Northwest Wisconsin Community Services Inc. (NWCSA) is a private non-profit organization that was incorporated in May of 1967 as a result of the Economic Opportunity Action. The mission of NWCSA is to improve the quality of life by providing resources and services within our community.  NWCSA works towards its mission by providing a wide of program and services with its 5 county services delivery area in Northwestern Wisconsin. 


    An Executive Director, appointment by a Board of Directors, acts on behalf of NWCSA to mange the operations of the organization.

  • Area Covered by NWCSA

    NWCSA covers five counties in Northwestern Wisconsin, Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Price, and Douglas Counties. This service delivery area is comprised of primarly rural populations that covers 5,800 square mile with the largest community being serviced is Superior. Population for the area ranges in the 96,000 with the Chequemegon-Nicolet National Forest covering much of the area. Lake Superior is a primary feature of our service area.

  • Funding

    NWCSA is a federally funded community action program.  We also receive funding through State of Wisconsin block grants, county and city funding, private and public grants and donations from the general public.

  • Grievances

    If you have a complaint or disagreement with a policy or action of Northwest Wisconsin Community Services Agency Inc.’s programs and/or staff, or if you feel that you have been denied access to services unfairly, or if you feel you have been discriminated against for any reason, the following grievance should be used to express your concerns.

     


    1. Bring the complaint directly to the program coordinator or other NWCSA staff person with whom you feel comfortable. Staff will assist you in determining the options for addressing your concerns. Please note that all complaints must be placed in writing and submitted within 10 days of the incident.


    2. If you feel that the complaint is not addressed effectively following the above, you may request to meet with the agency director concerning the matter.
